Description: PHOTOS: Brainerd SpottedÂ© - Missing WWII airman Leo Mustonen found. A blond 22-year-old Brainerd man 'Leo Mustonen' who vanished in 1942 was identified as the frozen airman found by climbers in California's Sierra Nevada mountain range. In October (2005), climbers found a frozen, intact body dressed in a parachute. Forensic experts and military body recovery specialists melted the 400-pound block of ice and granite that encased the body and airlifted it from the 13,710-foot Mount Mendel.
